Welcome to the home of Alex Gassman, an aspiring young racing driver aged 19, having just completed his third season of saloon car racing in 2010 where he was once again competing in the Mk1 MR2 Racing Series.

In his first ever season of competitive car racing in 2008, Alex managed to finish 3rd overall in the Red Dragon Race & Track Club Toyota  MR2 Mk1 Racing Series. He also won the best newcomer award for the season.

In 2009, Alex won the award for the ‘Most Outstanding Club Driver’, and scored 12 podium finishes including 9  race wins from a total of 15 races throughout the season.

In 2010, Alex won the series overall, becoming the Driver of the Year after 6 pole positions 13 podiums and 9 wins from 14 races.

Alex has also had the chance to drive other race cars, such as a Subaru Impreza, Hyundai Coupe, TVR Tuscan and Formula BMW single seater. In everything he’s driven he’s shown the ability to be very competitive within only a few laps.

Alex is currently taking a year out of racing in 2011 to concentrate on his Engineering Technician Apprenticeship with BAE Systems Surface Ships due to the large workload over the first year.

June 2011: Alex is putting together a plan to compete a full season of racing in 2012 and is actively seeking sponsorship.

January 2011: Alex is taking a year out from racing to concentrate on his Engineering Technician Apprenticeship with BAE Systems Surface Ships Portsmouth.

October 24th 2010: Alex wins the Mk1 MR2 racing series at the final round of Brands Hatch, qualifying pole in the rain, winning the first race and performing the drive of his life in the final.

September 19th 2010: Another fantastic weekend for Alex at Mallory Park, winning both races!

August 22nd 2010: Alex has a brilliant weekend at Cadwell qualifying on pole position, winning the first race and coming second in race 2.

July 17th 2010: Another perfect weekend for Alex at Lydden Hill with pole position and two wins.

June 20th 2010: Alex has the perfect weekend at Castle Combe, taking pole position and two race wins.

May 30th 2010: Alex scores a pole position and two third place finishes at the second round at Snetterton.

April 18th 2010: First round of the 2010 MR2Racing.com series and Alex has a brilliant start to the season by qualifying on pole, winning the first race and coming second in the second race.
