Welcome to the home of Alex Gassman, an aspiring young racing driver aged 17, having just completed his first season of saloon car racing in 2008. For the 2009 season Alex will once again be competing in the Mk1 MR2 Racing Series. He is very kindly being sponsored by Stoner Racing who are maintaining and transporting the car for us, so many thanks to the team there, especially Alec Fitness who is the chief engineer on Alex’s car and does a great job!
In his first ever season of competitive car racing, Alex managed to finish 3rd overall in the 2008 Red Dragon Race & Track Club Toyota MR2 Mk1 Racing Series. He also won the best newcomer award for the season.
Alex has also had the chance to drive other race perepared cars, such as a Subaru Impreza and a TVR Tuscan. In everything he’s driven he’s shown the ability to be very competitive within only a few laps.

This year, Alex is once again competing in the Red Dragon Race & Track Club Toyota Mk1 MR2 Racing series www.mr2racing.com This is a class solely for Mk1 MR2s and for drivers aged 16 and up, meaning Alex is one of the youngest drivers in the series.
The series is one of the cheapest types of motorsports around, and as a result modifications over the standard road car are limited, putting more pressure on the drivers to win the races, rather than relying on superior machinery.
